St. Francisville

We went to St. Francisville today to enjoy the beautiful weather. We ate lunch at Magnolia Cafe, which is never disappointing. I had the half mufaletta and Lady Gwenivere had the turkey special. We went antiquing during the day. Unfortunately, one of our favorite antique places, Bayou Pickers, was closed down. After visiting all the antique shops, we had mint juleps at the myrtles plantation followed by dinner at magnolia cafe once again. The ribeye steak there was really good. We finished up the day with the Mystery tour of the Myrtles plantation home. I would definitely opt for the history tour over the mystery tour, which wasn't nearly informative enough. Plus the lights were kept low in all the rooms so detail could not be seen on any of the plantations beautiful furniture and artifacts.

Alexander's Supermarket

Alexander's on Highland in Baton Rouge is a decent new grocery store. They have a good selection of items. The ale selection there is awesome. They have all my favorite imported ales like fullers london pride, holy grail ale and belhaven scottish ale. Their lunches and dinners from the deli leave a lot to be desired. It's pricey for what you get and the food looked like it had been sitting up there for a while.
